I don’t get much time off as a medical student at the University of Florida. But when I do, I like to make the most of it.
It does not take much preparation to go on a trip. A plane ticket and a backpack with clothes are the only necessities. Not much time is needed to throw these items together. When I do get time off, I like to travel.
Surgical teams conduct “time outs” before every surgery. This confirms the accuracy of patient identity, surgical site, and procedure. I think time outs are important for everyone. They force us to step back, stay fresh, and re-energize before moving forward. In my time outs, I like to go far away and immerse myself in cultures different from my own.
With all that in mind, I hope you enjoy my unique travel blog. I greatly appreciate any suggestions you may have about places to go, things to do, food to eat, and beer to drink.
